Emacs is the extensible, customizable, self-documenting real-time display editor. This package contains only the base files needed by the editor. You may choose to install the X11-enables (found in the emacs-x11 package -- notice that it will require the X11 libraries to be installed) or the console mode only editor (emacs-nox). This package contains the Emacs lisp code needed to support input methods for international character scripts.
